Malaysia’s Lee Jia Rong Strikes Gold Again at World Wushu Championships in Brazil

Last updated on December 25, 2025

KUALA LUMPUR: National wushu star Lee Jia Rong etched her name in the history books after clinching her fourth career gold medal at the 17th World Wushu Championships in Brasília, Brazil.

Competing in the Daoshu discipline, Jia Rong dazzled the judges with a high-difficulty routine that earned her a score of 9.776 points, enough to claim her first individual gold of this tournament.

She edged out Hong Kong’s Michelle Yeung, who matched her score but was ranked second due to Jia Rong’s superior technical difficulty. The bronze medal went to Japan’s Kana Ikeuchi, who posted 9.723 points.

This victory also marked Jia Rong’s second medal in Brasília, adding to the bronze she secured earlier in the Gunshu event.
