Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, 10 August 2026 – Malaysian technology shares extended a powerful rally on Monday, lifting the Bursa Malaysia Technology Index 2.5% to 79.37 points, its highest level since July 2024. The advance placed newly listed semiconductor companies and established electronics manufacturers at the centre of investor attention as enthusiasm around artificial intelligence infrastructure broadened across the local market.
SkyeChip Bhd rose as much as 10.3% to RM3.33 before ending 7.6% higher at RM3.25. The close valued the semiconductor design company at RM5.84 billion, with 23.4 million shares traded. Its stock has climbed 269% from the 88 sen initial public offering price since listing on 20 May, a rapid rerating that reflects both its market scarcity and investors’ appetite for Malaysian exposure to higher-value chip design.
