Malaysia Targets AI Nation by 2030 With 100,000 Government-Funded Coursera Learning Licences

Malaysia is offering 100,000 government-funded learning licences through Coursera and MyDIGITAL Corporation to strengthen AI skills, professional development and workforce readiness as it targets becoming an AI nation by 2030.

Kuala Lumpur, 8 October 2026 – Malaysia is accelerating efforts to build an artificial intelligence-ready workforce through a government-funded digital learning initiative offering access to more than 16,000 online courses and professional certification programmes, as the country works towards becoming an AI nation by 2030.

Ministry of Digital Secretary General Datuk Fabian Bigar said the government intends to distribute approximately 100,000 learning licences in phases under the Global Learning Pass initiative, developed through a collaboration involving MyDIGITAL Corporation and global online learning platform Coursera.
