Kuala Lumpur, 24 July 2026 – Malaysia could make a surprise return to the Formula One calendar this year as championship organisers evaluate replacement venues following renewed uncertainty over the Bahrain Grand Prix caused by escalating conflict in the Middle East.
The Sepang International Circuit, which last hosted a Formula One race in 2017, has emerged as one of the leading candidates to fill a vacant slot between the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in late September and the Singapore Grand Prix in October.
