Malaysia Data Centres Pledge Clean Power as Grid Pressure Builds

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 11 August 2026 – Almost all data-centre projects with electricity-supply agreements from Malaysia’s national utility have pledged to operate on clean power, linking digital investment growth with renewable-energy and grid expansion.

The utility has signed supply agreements for close to 60 data-centre projects. Large consumers can access renewable electricity through direct contracting and national solar and green-power programmes.
