Universiti Sains Malaysia is among the institutions experiencing a rise in collaboration with Chinese universities. Chemical engineer Professor Ahmad Zuhairi Abdullah has observed a growing flow of scientists and students arriving for study, joint research and technical cooperation. The trend reflects China’s expanding scientific capacity and Malaysia’s effort to connect domestic researchers with laboratories that operate at greater scale in fields where equipment, data and specialised talent can be costly to assemble.
