Kuala Lumpur, 14 October 2026 – Malaysia has allocated RM40 million to strengthen agro-food marketing infrastructure as the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority prepares to add 241 outlets under the Thirteenth Malaysia Plan. The programme is intended to widen routes to market for farmers and food entrepreneurs while improving the condition and digital capability of existing retail channels.
The new outlets will span several formats, including farmers’ markets, Agrobazaar Rakyat, Agrobazaar Kedai Rakyat, fresh-fruit stalls and Karavan Tani. FAMA also plans to rejuvenate 411 existing outlets, recognising that market access depends not only on adding locations but also on keeping established sites commercially relevant and attractive to consumers.
