SUBANG JAYA, MALAYSIA – 19 August 2025 – The Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur North, in collaboration with the Summervilla Management Committee, is inviting the public to join its upcoming “Be a Hero, Save a Life” Blood Donation & Community Day. The event, dedicated to saving lives and strengthening community ties, will be held on Saturday, 23 August 2025, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at PARC, Taman Subang Ria.
More than just a blood drive, the initiative offers a vibrant, family-friendly community day. In partnership with Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR)—which is currently facing a critical blood shortage as reported by The Star—the program seeks to encourage vital blood donations to meet pressing medical needs. As a token of gratitude, the first 100 donors will receive a FREE tote bag filled with goodies (while supplies last).
Set in the heart of PARC, Taman Subang Ria—a 7.5-acre urban park developed by Sime Darby Property in collaboration with EPIC—the event will be surrounded by lush greenery and lakeside views. Visitors can enjoy curated food pop-ups, local F&B offerings, and interactive life-skills workshops in a safe and inclusive environment built on sustainability and community input.

- Animal Kindness Corner – Meet furry companions and learn about animal welfare
- Free Eye Tests by Malaya Optical
- Free Physiotherapy Assessments by Sun Rehab Physiotherapy
- Health & Wellness Exhibits from partners including Pertubuhan Kebajikan Lifelink Seribu Kasih, OlyLife International, Coway, Generali Insurance, Rockwills, GEMS Helpline and more
“Every bag of blood can save up to three lives, and this need is urgent as HTAR faces a severe shortage,” said Carmen Siah, President of the Lions Club of KL North. “This event reflects our mission of humanitarian service, uniting health, compassion, and community in one meaningful initiative.”
Datuk Lawrence Lim Chaing Cheah added: “We are proud to support an event that not only encourages life-saving donations but also brings people together to promote overall well-being and community spirit.”
