Kuala Lumpur, 14 October 2026 – IHH Healthcare is considering a bid for Malaysian hospital assets backed by TPG, placing the region’s largest listed private healthcare operator into a potential contest with some of the world’s biggest investment firms. The portfolio could be valued at between US$6 billion and US$8 billion, or roughly RM24.5 billion to RM32.7 billion, making the process one of Malaysia’s most closely watched healthcare transactions.
The assets are held through Asia OneHealthcare, the group previously known as Columbia Asia Healthcare. TPG and Hong Leong Group acquired Columbia Asia’s Southeast Asian hospital business in 2019 before the platform adopted its current name in 2024 and consolidated additional operations, including a venture formerly owned by Sime Darby and an Australian hospital operator.
