Detroit, 31 July 2026 – General Motors plans to introduce a proprietary in-vehicle artificial-intelligence experience later in 2026, extending its strategy to turn connected cars into continuously updated software platforms. The initiative will build on OnStar data and vehicle intelligence, moving beyond general voice assistance toward services designed around an individual vehicle’s systems and operating context.
GM’s official materials describe a custom-built assistant fine-tuned with proprietary vehicle data. The company has also announced a nearer-term rollout of Google Gemini to eligible model-year 2022 and newer Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC vehicles equipped with Google built-in.
