Formosa Plastics and Daicel Form NT$800 Million Semiconductor Materials Venture

Taipei, Taiwan, 12 August 2026 – Formosa Plastics Corp and Japan’s Daicel Corp have established a 50-50 joint venture to manufacture electronic-grade photoresist thinner in Taiwan, targeting rising demand from advanced semiconductor production.

Formosa Daicel Advanced Chemicals Co Ltd has initial paid-in capital of NT$800 million, equivalent to about US$24.85 million. Each partner holds an equal stake, aligning ownership and initial funding between the Taiwanese industrial group and the Japanese chemicals specialist.
