Kuala Lumpur, 23 July 2026 – A former bank analyst has been sentenced to three years’ imprisonment after the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court found him guilty of carrying out regulated securities activities without the required licence and unlawfully using the title of Unit Trust Consultant (UTC), reinforcing Malaysia’s strict regulatory stance against unauthorised investment activities.
Mohd Arif Fadzlee Mohd Arifin was convicted on two charges under the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007 (CMSA) following prosecution by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC).
