Kuala Lumpur, 25 September 2026 – The FBM KLCI ended Friday lower after a late sell-off erased the recovery seen earlier in the session, leaving Malaysia’s benchmark index down 4.12 points, or 0.25%, at 1,672.31. That verified closing figure is more precise than describing the market as flat. The index’s path matters because it shows that investors were willing to buy weakness during the day but did not sustain that appetite into the close.
The benchmark moved within a range of 1,671.48 to 1,679.47 points. It had climbed into positive territory by midday after a weaker opening, before selling pressure returned near the end of trading. A same-day midday report had put the index at 1,671.17, down 1.14 points at the lunch break. Those time-stamped readings are different snapshots of one session, not conflicting closing prices.
