The index opened 2.42 points higher at 1,711.16 and traded between 1,708.47 and 1,716.23. The closing level represented a 0.37% increase from Wednesday’s 1,708.74. The progression from a modest morning gain to a firmer finish suggested that monetary-policy clarity helped investors add exposure after the central bank’s afternoon announcement.
