KUALA LUMPUR, 12 May 2026 – Equinix (Nasdaq: EQIX) has unveiled plans for KL2, its second International Business Exchange (IBX) data centre in Kuala Lumpur, marking a strategic US$190 million investment in Malaysia’s surging digital economy.

Located in the tech-hub of Cyberjaya, KL2 arrives at a critical juncture. As Malaysia formalises its AI ambitions through the National Artificial Intelligence Office (NAIO), the demand for high-density, liquid-cooled infrastructure has shifted from a “luxury” to a “strategic imperative.”
