Dubai Greenlights AI Initiatives for Digital Transformation

Sheikh Hamdan greenlights new initiatives to accelerate Dubai’s digital transformation, AI integration, and startup growth.

DUBAI, 21 October 2025 – Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved a series of programmes to accelerate Dubai’s digital transformation. The approvals were announced during the second 2025 meeting of the Higher Committee for Future Technology and the Digital Economy.

Sheikh Hamdan, who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, emphasised Dubai’s commitment to adopt AI and future technologies to become one of the smartest and most prepared cities in the world.

He said, “We are in a constant race to enhance the readiness of our government entities not only to keep pace with future transformations but also to make the most of AI tools in delivering services that are more efficient, secure, and innovative, in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).”

AI Infrastructure Empowerment Platform

The AI Infrastructure Empowerment Platform will support government agencies in the development and implementation of AI technologies. These solutions will cut costs, boost operational efficiency, deliver faster services, and strengthen cybersecurity.

Dubai AI Acceleration Taskforce

The Dubai AI Acceleration Taskforce is established to promote synergy among government agencies in efforts to align strategic vision for Dubai’s digital transformation. The main priorities are to quicken decision-making processes, enhance integration between institutions, and deliver sector-wide measurable impact.

Unicorn 30 Programme

The Unicorn 30 Programme created by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy will speed up the establishment of 30 startups and support them to reach global unicorn status. The goal is to solidify Dubai’s position as a centre for entrepreneurship with billion-dollar enterprises.

In addition, it was decided that GITEX Global 2026 will be located at Expo City Dubai in December 2026 for its 45th edition. This will allow the global technology event to gain higher international participation. The previous venue was the Dubai World Trade Centre.
