Hangzhou, 6 October 2026 – DeepSeek is preparing to raise more than 80 billion yuan, or roughly US$12 billion, in a financing round backed by major investors including Tencent and CATL, giving the Chinese artificial-intelligence developer a large capital pool before a possible domestic listing. The prospective round demonstrates strong investor demand while materially increasing expectations for commercial execution and governance.
The company initially sought about 50 billion yuan after beginning the process in July, but commitments exceeded that target and could approach 100 billion yuan based on signed term sheets. DeepSeek had targeted a valuation of about 500 billion yuan, approximately US$74 billion. The final amount, valuation and investor rights remain important because the transaction has not been publicly detailed in full.
