Carlsberg Malaysia Names Anthony Yong as New CFO

Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Berhad has appointed Anthony Yong Mun Seng, 53, as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective September 8, 2025.

Yong brings over two decades of experience across diverse industries and international markets. He joins Carlsberg from XCL Education Group, a leading Southeast Asian education network, where he served as CFO for Malaysia.

Previously, Yong spent significant years with British American Tobacco, holding key roles such as CFO/Finance Director for Malaysia and Singapore, and Corporate Finance Controller for the Southeast Asia region. His career began with KPMG in Malaysia and San Francisco before moving to British American Tobacco in 2000, followed by a stint at Lhoist in 2015, and later returning to British American Tobacco. His overseas postings have taken him to countries including Bangladesh and Switzerland.

Yong holds Chartered Accountant credentials from both Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He is also a Certified Public Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
