Beijing, 24 August 2026 – ByteDance is consolidating its artificial-intelligence productivity tools under Doubao, bringing the teams behind TRAE and Coze into its flagship Chinese AI assistant as it steps up competition with Tencent in the enterprise software market.
The restructuring is expected to place TRAE Work and Coze’s agent-building capabilities within Doubao’s workplace functions, while TRAE IDE and its command-line tools continue as specialised coding products under the wider Doubao brand. The company is also preparing a unified office product known as Doubao Work, according to people familiar with the plans.
