The discussion brings human judgement and control into focus as AI capabilities become more relevant to consequential security decisions.
Representatives described concerns about compressed decision timelines and the ability of misinformation to damage public trust before authorities respond. Jürg Lauber, vice-president of the International Committee of the Red Cross, stressed the importance of preserving human judgement over the use of force as weapons become more autonomous.
