Singapore, 29 July 2026 – Asian equities stabilised after a sharp sell-off as investors reassessed technology valuations, competition and artificial-intelligence spending ahead of major corporate earnings and a United States Federal Reserve decision. The rebound eased immediate pressure but did not remove the questions that triggered the rout.
Technology stocks have carried a large share of global market gains, leaving prices sensitive to any evidence that AI investment is slowing or failing to generate expected revenue. Rising competition can also weaken margins even when demand grows. Investors are therefore looking to earnings calls for guidance on capital expenditure, pricing power and the commercial returns from data-centre investment.
