Santa Clara, 29 September 2026 – Advanced Micro Devices has agreed to acquire artificial intelligence research company World Labs for approximately US$8.2 billion in an all-stock transaction, marking one of AMD’s biggest strategic moves yet to strengthen its position beyond chips and deeper into AI models, software and physical intelligence.

World Labs, founded and led by prominent AI researcher Dr Fei-Fei Li, develops spatial-intelligence models capable of generating, reconstructing and simulating interactive three-dimensional environments from text, images and video.
