A Chocolate Christmas Turns Gramado Festival Scale Into a Cross-Border Film Bet

Gramado, 15 August 2026 – Brazilian director and producer Paulo Nascimento is preparing “A Chocolate Christmas,” a Portuguese-language holiday romantic drama that will use locations in Gramado and New York to build a commercially focused seasonal feature for release in 2027.

The production is scheduled to film for one week in New York City in December 2026 and four weeks in Gramado in January 2027. Its Brazilian shoot will incorporate exteriors from Natal Luz de Gramado, a large-scale Christmas festival featuring parades, performances, concerts, fireworks, illuminated costumes and water-based shows.
