UNITED STATES, 17 October 2025 – K-pop girl group TWICE made history on Thursday (Oct 16) by becoming the first K-pop act to perform at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2025.

However, the performance by the four members, Nayeon, Momo, Jihyo, and Tzuyu, drew criticism from some online users who claimed it was “off-key.”

Following the show, member Tzuyu apologized to fans on the platform Bubble, explaining that she had caught a bad cold and performed with “phlegm stuck” in her throat, which made it difficult to sing.

She promised fans she would perform much better next time. Tzuyu later revealed she was heading to the hospital for treatment.

Two of her groupmates immediately defended her. Leader Jihyo told fans to “hurry and praise our Tzuyu,” noting how upset the singer must feel.

Nayeon confirmed that Tzuyu had practiced heavily but was too sick to perform live.

Nayeon also revealed the group had thought about canceling the live singing portions due to Tzuyu’s condition, but Tzuyu bravely decided to try.

The incident has caused some fans to criticize TWICE’s agency, JYP Entertainment, for setting up activities too close together, noting that the Victoria’s Secret show happened only days after the group’s concert in Singapore.
