IPSWICH, 23 September 2025 — Global music superstar Ed Sheeran has expanded his ever-growing Suffolk estate with the purchase of a Grade II-listed farmhouse and surrounding land worth £1 million (RM5.67 million), adding another chapter to what fans fondly call Sheeranville.
The 34-year-old singer, who already resides nearby with his wife Cherry Seaborn and their daughters Lyra, five, and Jupiter, three, is no stranger to luxury. Their main home already features a swimming pool, a two-storey treehouse, a private pub, and even a chapel on the grounds. Yet Sheeran’s latest acquisition is not just about comfort — it is a playground of creativity and leisure designed around his personal passions.
Music Meets Leisure
According to The Sun’s Bizarre column, Sheeran has begun transforming several barns on the property into multi-purpose spaces. One barn has already been converted into a recording studio, providing him with a dedicated space to develop new music away from the bustle of touring.
Another former piggery has been remodelled into what friends describe as a lavish “man cave”, complete with a bar, gym, pool table, and the long-dreamed-of bowling alley that Sheeran once admitted he was never allowed to install at his main home.
A separate barn is being considered as a rehearsal space, while the upper floors are set to house an office and library, cementing the property’s role as both a creative retreat and leisure hub.
A Self-Sufficient Retreat
Beyond the entertainment facilities, Sheeran is also taking steps to give the farmhouse a more homely, sustainable touch. He has reportedly been restoring the gardens and surrounding fields, creating areas for vegetable cultivation. An outdoor kitchen is also in the works, designed for gatherings with family and friends — balancing productivity with downtime.
“His first estate is home, but this second place is like a paradise he can have fun in,” a source told The Sun, highlighting how Sheeran intends to separate family life from his personal creative pursuits.
Cherry’s Grounding Influence
Sheeran has often credited his wife Cherry for keeping his more extravagant plans realistic. Earlier this year, on the Call Her Daddy podcast, he revealed that Cherry had previously vetoed his idea of a bowling alley at their main home, ensuring their children grow up with balance rather than indulgence.
“She doesn’t want our kids growing up in a Richie Rich house with McDonald’s in the back garden,” Sheeran joked, noting how Cherry has long been the grounding force in his life.
Now, with his farmhouse expansion, it seems Sheeran has found the perfect compromise — a creative and recreational escape where music and leisure coexist, all while keeping his family’s main residence intact as a home.
