Paris, 5 November 2026 – The French Blood Establishment, Établissement français du sang (EFS), said no blood products or samples were lost after a cyberattack affecting a refrigeration supplier disrupted cold-storage controls at three of its sites on 2 November. The organisation said monitoring systems detected the anomalies in time for staff to secure or transfer the stored material.
For Asian healthcare, logistics and refrigeration businesses, the incident highlights a risk that extends beyond stolen data: compromised connected equipment can threaten physical operations. In this case, EFS reported that collection and distribution continued and no health consequences had been identified. That outcome reflects a successful response to this incident, not evidence that the underlying cyber risk has disappeared.
