Kuala Lumpur, 3 November 2026 – The East Coast Rail Link is projected to generate RM418 million in passenger and cargo operating revenue in 2029, according to Transport Minister Anthony Loke. In a written parliamentary reply dated 2 November, he cited a consultant study estimating RM204 million from passengers and RM214 million from freight that year.

Actual receipts remain dependent on passenger numbers, cargo volumes and demand, while the longer-term freight-led business model differs from the mix projected for 2029.
