Malaysia, 3 November 2026 – Tuju’s Android application now hands navigation requests to Google Maps rather than providing turn-by-turn directions within the app, according to an update reported on 2 November. Android version 2.0.4 was released on 30 October, ahead of the developer’s earlier 6 November target for restoring a navigation feature that had been disabled following criticism of its performance.
For Malaysian technology businesses and users, the change puts practical service delivery ahead of the idea that one local application must perform every function itself. It is a reported change in how users get directions, not evidence that Tuju has built a new routing engine or resolved every earlier concern. The Android update also should not be assumed to describe the iPhone version.
