Beijing, China, 3 November 2026 – The People’s Bank of China has scheduled a new round of securities-swap bidding for 3 November after 31 brokers and fund companies applied for more than CNY 100 billion. The plan forms part of equity-market support announced on 2 November, alongside a cut in the rate on share-buyback relending to 1% from 1.25%.
For Asian investors, the measures signal an effort to improve access to funding for stock purchases after a difficult month for Chinese equities. The applications and announced policy changes are confirmed in the reported statements; the amount actually allotted, deployed and retained in shares is not established by the announcement. Liquidity support also differs from evidence that corporate earnings or consumer demand have recovered.
