Johor Bahru, 2 November 2026 – The Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) has secured RM88.83 billion in approved investments, but its latest progress figures reveal a more important measure of economic success.

Of the investments approved between January 2025 and June 2026, approximately RM40.3 billion, or 45%, has reached the implementation stage. The figures were disclosed following the inaugural Johor-Singapore Cooperation Ministerial Committee meeting on 2 November.

Approved projects are associated with 28,755 potential jobs, while projects reaching implementation account for 12,796 employment opportunities.

The numbers demonstrate substantial investor interest. They also highlight the challenge of converting investment commitments into productive economic activity.
