Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia, 2 November 2026 – Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has urged authorities to take firm action, including prosecution where warranted, after a raid on a poultry-processing site in Puchong led to the seizure of more than 6.5 tonnes of raw chicken valued at RM85,400. The possible halal-compliance breaches remain under investigation; the seizure is not a finding of guilt.
The case matters to food businesses because the authorities are tracing the site’s suppliers and distribution network, which may include eateries, grocers and other commercial customers. Officials have confirmed the seizure and an ongoing probe, but not the volume actually processed or the identity of every downstream buyer. Any implications for specific retailers, restaurants or consumers therefore remain unconfirmed.
