Houston, 22 October 2026 – Kinder Morgan Inc. has approved US$4.7 billion as its share of investment in two natural-gas pipeline joint ventures serving power generation, data centres and liquefied-natural-gas demand. The company plans about US$3.1 billion for Southern Natural Gas Company’s Southeast Connector and US$1.6 billion for Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America’s Permian Link.
The projects matter to Asian investors because US gas infrastructure influences LNG supply, electricity costs and the global data-centre build-out. The investment amounts and proposed capacities are company disclosures, but both projects remain subject to construction, regulatory and customer-execution risks. Their expected 2030 service dates mean cash returns will depend on multi-year delivery and durable contracted demand.
