Kuala Lumpur, 20 October 2026 – Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad is expected to deliver resilient first-half 2027 earnings despite volatile Malaysian Government Securities yields and continued competition for deposits. Publicly reported analyst estimates place full-year 2027 net profit near RM899.3 million, with the first half expected to contribute about half that amount. The bank has guided for a net interest margin of 2.23% to 2.28%.
For Malaysian investors, the outlook matters because Alliance Bank combines ordinary lending exposure with a sizeable bond portfolio that can move in value as market yields change. Its financial assets measured at fair value through other comprehensive income included about RM7.3 billion of Malaysian Government Securities in the first half of 2026, with an estimated duration of four to five years. Yield movements can therefore affect reported reserves even when the securities continue paying as contracted.
