Kuala Lumpur, 9 October 2026 – Orkim Berhad has taken delivery of Orkim Opal, expanding its fleet to 20 vessels and increasing carrying capacity by approximately 5.5%. The addition strengthens the marine transport group’s ability to handle a wider range of cargoes, although commercial operations and the associated revenue contribution remain prospective rather than completed milestones.

The delivery was accepted by wholly owned subsidiary Orkim Ambition Sdn Bhd through the completion of the Protocol of Delivery and Acceptance. Orkim Opal is a Malaysian-flagged, 2025-built IMO Type II oil and chemical tanker with deadweight tonnage of 13,998 tonnes. Its addition raises the group’s total fleet capacity from 253,036 DWT to 267,034 DWT.
