San Francisco, 7 October 2026 – Google and Unity are building a two-stage platform that lets users create playable games with natural-language prompts, a partnership that could widen the game-development market while giving both companies a new route to capture creators, distribution and artificial-intelligence demand.
Google launched Playground in the United States on Wednesday as an experimental browser-based service. Users can describe a game, play the result and modify elements such as rules, physics, characters or settings through further instructions without conventional coding. Unity Spark, scheduled for later in 2026, is intended to provide a more advanced environment using Unity’s runtime and higher-fidelity three-dimensional capabilities.
