Boston Dynamics Picks Rohit Prasad to Turn Physical AI Into Commercial Scale

Rohit Prasad takes charge of Boston Dynamics with a mandate to turn advanced robotics and AI into safe, repeatable and commercially scalable deployments.

Boston, 7 October 2026 – Boston Dynamics has appointed former Amazon artificial-intelligence executive Rohit Prasad as chief executive, placing a specialist in turning advanced software into mass-market products at the centre of Hyundai Motor Group’s effort to commercialise physical AI.

Prasad’s appointment took effect on Wednesday. During 12 years at Amazon, he helped build the Alexa voice-assistant business and later led development of the Nova family of foundation models. Before Amazon, he spent nearly 14 years at Raytheon BBN Technologies working on machine learning for government and commercial applications. Subject to approvals, he is also expected to join the Boston Dynamics board.
