Kuala Lumpur, 7 October 2026 – A cluster of Malaysian corporate developments has placed capital allocation, portfolio discipline and contract execution at the centre of investor attention, led by a major land acquisition by Scientex, a possible regional divestment by CIMB Group and a sizeable solar engineering award for Samaiden Group.

Scientex agreed to acquire 203.6 hectares of land in Pulai, Johor, for RM580 million to expand its land bank for a mixed development. The transaction gives the packaging and property group a substantial new development platform in a state benefiting from industrial investment and closer economic links with Singapore. Investors will nevertheless need to assess the purchase price against future gross development value, planning approvals, infrastructure commitments and the pace at which the land can be converted into earnings and cash flow.
