New York, 6 October 2026 – SpaceX shares have climbed back to US$171.09 after a 7.6% daily advance, reaching their highest level since the company’s June market debut and restoring investor enthusiasm after a volatile post-listing period. The latest rally differs from the initial offering surge because public investors can now assess operating results, insider selling and near-term Starship milestones rather than relying primarily on scarcity and private-market expectations.
The company’s record initial public offering priced shares at US$142 and raised about US$86 billion, but the stock later fell below its offer price as lock-up restrictions began expiring. That release of previously restricted shares increased the available float and exposed the valuation to more conventional price discovery. The subsequent recovery suggests demand has absorbed part of that supply, although future unlocks can continue to influence trading.
