Kuala Lumpur, 6 October 2026 – The FBM KLCI rose 5.49 points, or 0.34%, to 1,637.24 at midday as regional markets followed gains in large US technology companies, although elevated bond yields continued to limit the case for a broad, valuation-driven equity rally.

The benchmark opened at 1,636.38 and traded between 1,635.21 and 1,641.20 during the morning session, compared with Monday’s close of 1,631.75. The relatively narrow range showed that buyers were willing to add exposure but had not decisively broken the consolidation pattern that has shaped recent trading.
