Singapore, 6 October 2026 – A week-long enforcement sweep across Singapore’s land, air and sea checkpoints has detected seven travellers carrying more than S$20,000 in undeclared cash, reinforcing the compliance risks attached to cross-border movement of physical currency and high-value goods.
The operation ran from 22 to 28 September and involved enhanced checks on nearly 13,000 travellers and 350 vehicles, with more than 14,000 pieces of luggage and hand-carry baggage scanned or searched. One foreign traveller allegedly carried S$31,000 without declaring it, while another was found with approximately S$51,000. The cases remain subject to the applicable enforcement process.
