Amsterdam, 5 October 2026 – AkzoNobel has agreed to sell its Southeast Asian decorative-paints operations to Nippon Paint for an enterprise value of about US$1.35 billion, reshaping the region’s coatings market and giving investors a clear valuation benchmark for established consumer brands.

The binding agreements cover decorative-paints businesses in Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Papua New Guinea and Australia. Completion for most markets is targeted for mid-2027, while Indonesia is expected to close separately in late 2026, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.
