Sepang, 1 October 2026 – Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong arrived in Malaysia for a one-day working visit centred on economic ties and supply-chain resilience. His aircraft landed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 9.40am. The visit gives businesses and investors a near-term test of whether two closely linked economies can turn years of cooperation into practical arrangements for moving goods when disruptions strike.

Gan, who also holds Singapore’s trade and industry portfolio, is scheduled to meet Malaysian Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Johari Abdul Ghani and attend a business luncheon with the Malaysia-Singapore Business Council. He is also due to co-chair the third annual ministerial dialogue between the two trade ministries and meet Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir in Putrajaya. These are scheduled engagements, not completed agreements.
