US Networks Resume White House Pool Coverage as Trump Media Battle Moves to Courts

US television networks have resumed White House pool coverage after a federal judge temporarily blocked President Donald Trump’s ban on CNN, MS NOW and Politico.

Washington, 26 September 2026 – Major US television networks have resumed pooled coverage of President Donald Trump’s official events after a federal judge temporarily blocked the administration’s ban on CNN, MS NOW and Politico, reopening White House access while a wider legal battle over press freedom continues. 

The television pool returned to operation on Friday after several days in which ABC, CBS, Fox News and NBC suspended pooled video coverage in response to CNN being barred from participating in its scheduled rotation. CNN is one of five major networks that normally share the responsibility and costs of filming presidential events for wider distribution.
