Kuala Lumpur, 19 September 2026 – Telekom Malaysia Bhd is using eight decades of national connectivity investment as the foundation for a broader digital-infrastructure strategy spanning fibre, submarine cables, data centres, cloud services, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. For investors, the transition is significant because it places the group at the intersection of domestic connectivity demand and Malaysia’s ambition to serve as a regional digital hub.
TM’s network scale remains the core asset. Its 2025 integrated reporting records more than 750,000 kilometres of domestic fibre-optic cables and more than 400,000 kilometres across 39 submarine cable systems. The group also reported six data centres, including one in Hong Kong, and seven edge data centres. These assets support consumer broadband, enterprises, government agencies and wholesale carriers while providing the physical routes required for cloud and AI workloads.
