Singapore, 6 September 2026 – Singapore’s Child Support Package is set to reshape how families plan for the cost of raising children, with a broad mix of cash, account credits and matched savings scheduled to begin from April 2027. The package covers Singapore citizen children aged 17 and below and replaces the Baby Bonus Scheme and Large Families Scheme with a structure that delivers the same level of support regardless of birth order.

For parents, the headline amounts are substantial enough to warrant deliberate financial planning. A Singapore citizen child born on or after 1 April 2027 will receive a S$10,000 Baby Gift. From ages one to 16, each eligible child will receive S$2,000 a year in Child Credits, producing a potential S$32,000 over the full period. The credits are designed to help with daily expenses and can reduce the pressure on household cash flow during the long middle years of child-rearing.
