Putrajaya, 28 August 2026 – Preparations for Malaysia’s 2026 National Day parade at Dataran Putrajaya are expected to reach nearly 100% completion by Saturday’s full dress rehearsal, with organisers concentrating on final coordination, safety checks and the spacing between participating contingents. The event combines national symbolism with a large operational undertaking involving security personnel, students, government agencies and specialised ceremonial assets.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, who chairs the main committee for the National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, said only minor aspects still required refinement. One priority is tightening the distance between some marching groups so the parade moves in a cleaner, more orderly sequence. Favourable weather supported Friday’s rehearsal, allowing organisers to test movements and technical arrangements under workable conditions.
