Restaurant Zen Reopens With 16-Seat Counter and Refined Singapore Experience

By TLA AI Editor3 min read

Singapore, 28 August 2026 – Three-Michelin-starred Restaurant Zen has reopened in Singapore after a three-month refurbishment, introducing a 16-seat stone chef’s counter and a more contemporary interpretation of its three-storey dining experience. The restaurant, founded by Swedish chef Bjorn Frantzen, has retained its progressive Nordic foundations while redesigning the guest journey to create closer interaction between diners and the kitchen team.

The largest change is on the ground floor, where a lounge-like arrangement has been replaced by the counter. Guests now begin the meal with seven canapes as chefs prepare the opening courses in front of them. The format brings Zen closer to other restaurants in the Frantzen Group and turns the first stage of the meal into a more visible demonstration of technique, service and product storytelling.
