Singapore, 27 August 2026 – Comprehensive macroeconomic assessments and institutional trade analyses released on Thursday indicate that Singapore’s full-year gross domestic product (GDP) growth is tracking toward a robust 3.2% for 2026, positioning the city-state near the upper boundary of the Ministry of Trade and Industry’s official forecast range of 2.0% to 3.5%, propelled by a roaring cyclical expansion across advanced semiconductor exports and specialized high-tech manufacturing.
The accelerating macroeconomic momentum is anchored by a sharp resurgence in Non-Oil Domestic Exports (NODX), which expanded by 12.4% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, ending a prolonged downcycle. Growth was heavily concentrated in high-value electronic components, where export billings for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chip packaging, optical photonics transceivers, and integrated circuit testing equipment surged by an impressive 22.8%, driven by insatiable global demand for artificial intelligence data center infrastructure across North America and East Asia.
