Kuala Lumpur, 26 August 2026 – Malaysia’s Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) has formally accelerated the formulation and implementation of the ‘National Low-Altitude Economy Strategic Blueprint 2030’, establishing a unified regulatory, technological, and commercial framework to position Malaysia as Southeast Asia’s premier hub for autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), commercial cargo drone logistics, and electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) passenger mobility systems.
The forward-looking policy framework, coordinated alongside the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), and industry stakeholders, establishes designated low-altitude commercial air corridors below 300 meters across Peninsular and East Malaysia. The initiative is engineered to unlock an estimated RM35 billion in economic gross value added (GVA) by 2030 across specialized industrial sectors, including precision agricultural spraying, offshore oil and gas delivery, emergency medical cargo transport, and urban port logistics.
