Boise, Idaho, 20 August 2026 – United States memory semiconductor leader Micron Technology has unveiled Micron Research Labs, a premier long-horizon research institution headquartered in Boise, Idaho, backed by a planned $10 billion investment over the next decade to spearhead breakthroughs in artificial intelligence memory, advanced computing architectures, and future semiconductor manufacturing.
Described as the first dedicated memory research institution of its kind in the United States, the new facility is scheduled to break ground in calendar 2027 at Micron’s Boise campus. The dedicated complex will host hundreds of advanced research scientists and engineers while serving as a global convening hub for technical symposia, research workshops, and semiconductor innovation forums.
